I like to teach with music, meaning we start by choosing the students favorite song and building slowly in level of difficulty. As they progress we play beats and learn fills. Later we get into reading and writing drum notes. Then we explore different genres, and styles of playing. After college, I had the opportunity to teach drums at Southwestern for 2 years as a adjunct faculty member. I then went on to teach at Fort Worth Christian School for 5 years and worked with all their students including their drum line.
