I firmly believe that nurturing passion for music and the drums is the ultimate goal of any private instructor. As such, I prioritize student agency to make their own musical journey. My role is to make this journey as smooth and efficient as possible by providing the appropriate materials and guidance. I believe if a teacher better understands how a student learns, and what they're passionate about, the quicker the student will improve. To have whatever instrument the student is learning, be it drumset, piano, or voice, it is of utmost importance to me to have them re-sounding the whole body of the instrument with confidence, and with passion. Ive always believed that the best way to learn music is as if you are learning a foreign language. In my many years of drumming, I have acquired a wide array of first hand experience. I have toured throughout the Midwest as well as Florida. I have participated in, and won, numerous solo competitions, and been an instructor of Summer Band Camps. I studied Jazz Drum Set Performance at North Central College.
