My goal is to help my student evolve into a creative, critically thinking, and fundamentally strong musician.I want my student to find his/her own creative voice through music. Even if the student does not pursue a career in music, through this process he/she will have developed invaluable skills and confidence. Seeing students acquire that self-confidence and creative voice is what makes teaching worthwhile. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons 8 years ago. I only had a couple of students at that time due to my workload in school and other curricular activities, but I felt comfortable in my ability to teach the drums intuitively, thanks to my drum teacher. Also, as I am constantly learning from my teachers, peers and from listening to all kinds of music teaching almost comes as second nature to me. Read More

I am a passionate instructor who enjoys working with students. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2014 with a degree in Music Performance and Music Business. Since then I have been living in the Boston area performing, writing, and recording with other area artists. When I was younger I had started my percussion journey with marching drums, and to this day I still have a great deal of passion for the musical style. Read More

My lessons for vocalists are divided into two sections: technique and repertoire. For singers, breath management skills are of primary importance as this directly affects intonation. I like to begin with Anne Peckham's The Contemporary Singer. My students can choose any songs they would like to sing while we work on musicianship skills including expression and lyrical phrasing. Singers who want to study jazz and improvisation use one or more of my pedagogical texts on scat singing. Read More

I began learning piano at the age of three. My dad is a band and chorus teacher and didn't consider it an "optional" skill. I actually learned to read music before english! (I was confused in kindergarten when I found that the alphabet went past G!) Music has been an integral part of my life since then with my elementary and high school years filled with festivals, concerts, auditions and competitions. Read More

I have taught guitar, drums and music on and off over the past 30 years. From children to seniors and ages in between, I say practice makes perfect! As a teacher I encourage my students to progress. I learned so much from my great teachers, I experienced being a student myself! I am learning all the time. As a student I learned a lot, so in turn I enjoy teaching what I have learned. Read More

After seeing an unforgettable performance by the Blue Man Group, I became inspired to start playing the drums at 10 years old. I participated in every school ensemble possible throughout elementary school, middle school, and high school including jazz band, marching band, pit orchestra, jazz combo, concert band, and a blues/rock band outside of school that regularly performed around southern New Jersey and Philadelphia. Since 2008, I have performed live on over 200 occasions around the mid Atlantic and New England regions. In 2014, I graduated from Berklee College of Music summa cum laude with focuses on Music Business and Drum Set Performance.I currently play drums with Vitamin Sun, a progressive/alternative/indie band located in Boston, and GEPH, a progressive/metal/jazz instrumental trio also located in Boston.
