I have had many experiences in my pursuit of Music throughout the Eastern Seaboard. I have had professional singing experiences as well in a few varied genres, include Gospel, Spiritual and Classical musics. My professional training in Education has afforded me the luxury of teaching in a variety of educational settings ranging from Pre-School to Adult Continuing Education. To culminate my work experiences in Therapeutic Music as both a Recreation Specialist and Music Therapist, I completed one year of study at New York University and have plans to one day finish a program I started there. I have also maintained my skill at performance on Woodwinds and Classical guitar, which I enjoy especially having students to prepare for. I love being able to send students on their way for the day knowing that they put their best foot forward. I have taught kids from ages 9 to fourteen, and am open to teaching anyone of any skill level. I also offer lessons in composition and recording/engineering music production. I encourage regular practice and make sure, especially for kids, that they leave every lesson with something new. I focus on learning how to be a successful musician all around, emphasizing on good technique, performance, and each student's individual sound. My teaching experience goes back to the 12th grade, when I was the section leader of my high school marching band's percussion section. Although it was my first time ever teaching someone, I almost immediately developed a teaching strategy; I simply taught and guided that student exactly the way I would have wanted to be taught myself, with the uttemost care and attention to their individual needs as a percussion student, coupled with the tools to push them far past what they ever imagined they could achieve in music. I have a comfortable home teaching studio with a beautiful vintage drumset, a marimba, various percussion, and too many other instruments to list. I also have a comfortable waiting area for parents and/ or siblings (where you can hear the lesson in session, if you wish), as well as comfortable porch seating for nice days.
