I learned a lot from the dozens of teachers I took private lesons with growing up. In 2010 I was a counselor for a music camp in Upstate New York. I worked with young kids and helped teach them pop/classic songs. I've had a Diaspora class in college on teaching drumset to beginngers. I began teaching drums in 2014. I decided to look into giving lessons because of my passion for drumming. I wanted to provide an opportunity for others to discover that same passion. I learned how to play on my own. I listened to songs and studied what the drummer was doing. I would try to replicate what I heard. As their instructor, I assist students in creating said goals, but most importantly, I try to tailor my lessons in a way that helps my students remain inspired while promoting their own growth and fulfillment of their goals. I started teaching private lessons back in the day when I was living in my country, the Dominican Republic. I had students of different ages and with different interests. Also, before I moved to the United States, I taught for almost a year in a private music school in my country. I'm very passionate about music and sharing the knowledge I know to students. I was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and started playing the drums when I was 8. I started out playing rock/pop and then slowly went into jazz. Now I am interested in playing a wide array of genres. I graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelor's in Jazz Performance.
