Most important to my teaching is that each student to listens to a lot of music, and learns to play the music that they love as soon as possible. I work with a variety of method books/videos depending on skill level and stylistic interest, and teach time-tested regimens for building raw ability on the instrument. I also have many exercises of my own invention that are fun to listen to and play, while still remaining challenging and building facility. Read More

I am a multifaceted musician, music producer, composer and instrumentalist with diverse musical experience spanning many genres and styles. I graduated from Bard College in 2016 with a degree in music composition. While at Bard, I was involved with the opera workshop and the audio engineering crew. I play six instruments and am able to teach most of them proficiently. Currently, I perform as a solo musician with a backing band at venues and clubs throughout the New York area, and also compose and produce music for film, TV, video games and advertisements. My teaching style is all about the growth of the student and doing what I can to spur their progress. Being new to private instruction, I am eager to discover what teaching methods work most effectively for each student I interact with, and even strengthen my own guitar skills in the process. In teaching, I aim to help make music feel like fun as opposed to a chore or obligation and pass on what I have found most effective and helpful in my journey thus far. Read More

A 20-year veteran musician, I was working in Los Angeles performing with such people as Gregg Wright (Michael Jackson's former guitarist), Spencer Davis, and many other high-profile names. I performed all over the Southwest, from San Francisco to San Diego to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. I've done weddings, clubs private parties, recording sessions, drum circles...you name it. I'm also friends with famous drummers you've heard of, and relay stories of the life of a musician that you won't hear in any music school. Read More

For my younger students who may not have musical goals I keep the instruction very easy going and well rounded. For my advanced and more focused students I let them set their own goals and then help them in every way I can. I want my students to learn how to play like themselves and not like me so if a certain aspect of the lessons does not work for them I make adjustments and we keep moving forward. Read More

I started teaching when i started college. I was first a substitute teacher. From then, I slowly built up my student database. I have worked for many music schools and have always had a packed schedule. I make sure the student feels at home and comfortable when taking lessons. I believe music education is important these days. Many schools are taking away their music programs. When teaching, I am confident in my skills for keeping the student interested, learning, and happy. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Read More
