I am an individual focused on helping people reach their goals. My biggest pleasure is seeing my students succeed in their musical jorney and have a great time in the process. I graduated from UNC-Charlotte in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. I recently moved to the north east part of the US. I considered myself a multicultural individual since I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela when I was a kid. Read More

I used a combination of my own methods and standardized books for drum set education. I break up the lessons in two or three sections depending on skill level. The fundamentals are key aspects to progress as a drummer. Using a combination of technique lessons and also practical musical application are key lessons to go over with any student. I like to make the lessons fun and the most important part is to play with music. Read More

I've discovered over the years that every student is different and require a custom approach tailored to what method works best for them. After evaluating a student's understanding and capabilities, I typically choose a method book to parallel their existing skills and work through it at the most enthusiastic, but comfortable pace. The importance of using method books is based in the student's ability to review material between lessons and using them as checklists for progress. Establishment of a solid fundamental approach will be critical to the student's advancement and ability to perform for an audience, regardless of size or venue acoustics. Read More

Playing percussion for services at Tulsas Unitarian Church of the Restoration, I learned to study and play rhythms as both a form of language and (rather loud) meditation. From there, I went to college in Oberlin OH, majoring in Psychology while moonlighting in bands with players in Obserlins world-class conservatory, serving an audience of peers from around the world. In and outside of Oberlins music tech program, I began to study and use drum machines, MIDI and looping. Read More

My teaching style involves a comprehensive approach topercussion that is inclusive of all styles of music. I emphasize the importance of obtaining asolidityin the fundamentals and showing the student how it willget them to where they wnat to be.I alsoaim to make the student doesn't just learn a few beats or scalesand then call it day. I encourage the student to seek an understanding ofthe music, and to knowwhy they are playing what they are playing. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to showing simple rock grooves to the kids at my fathers church. I had very little knowledge about music back then but I knew from early on that I had a niche for teaching. During my time at Rutgers University I was priveleged enough to work for the Rutgers Extension Division which specializes in different lesson and summer programs. Through the Extension Division I was able to gain experience as a counselor, working with children ages 6-18, and also as a substitute drum instuctor. Read More
