Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I fell in love with playing music when I was handed a flute by my teacher in the sixth grade. Twice I marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with the Great American Marching Band. In High School I played a concerto on flute with the string orchestra and had the opportunity to conduct the concert band. Since then I have had the opportunity to play with various ensembles at Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York. I graduated Brooklyn College in 2014 and am looking forward to passing on my love of music to others. Read More

For beginning students, I prefer to start them on a book based in warming up and getting used to movement in hands if we are playing piano. Throughout my teaching, I incorporate music theory and ear training into my classes as it creates a fantastic bridge to understanding the instrument. As we get used to our new instrument, I will recommend some songs to get started on and allow my students to come to class with ideas and songs that they want to learn how to play or sing. Read More

I often find that students should set performance goals even if it is just a performance for friends and family. This helps establish workable milestones in the student's progress. Navarro is a part of the liberation-oriented free jazz collective, Irreversible Entanglements. After their highly acclaimed self-titled debut album on International Anthem, a second album is due to be released in 2020. Navarro also has a duo project with Brooklyn-based drummer Tcheser Holmes. The duo, entitled Heritage of the Invisible, merges each members music and life background through in real time improvisations. Read More

I will never give a student an assignment that I am not confident that they can complete before the next lesson.
