I have been teaching for about 5 years, but have had incredible teaching oppurtunities in this small window of time. I often helped my college professor with her highschool students, andI had the oppurtunity to teach for a semester as an Adjunct at Central College in Pella, IA. I adjust my teaching based on the particular student. For adults I take the lessons in whatever direction they like. Subjects covered are more often than not dictated by the student's interest. I have 3 years of teaching experience and 10 years of experience as a performer. I love making and sharing music with others, and I find it extremely rewarding to see a student grow and develop as a musician. I take a calm approach to teaching and work with students according to their goals. Students can bring any music they would like to learn, and I think music should be fun to learn! Read More

String students: For both younger and adult beginners, I like to use a combination of the Suzuki books and the Essential Elements series. I do not teach the Suzuki method, but use the books for their staple and universally well-known repertoire. Read More
