I began studying cello, violin, and piano in Kiev, Ukraine and continued my music education when I moved to the USA. I received a Bachelor's degree in Cello Performance from Central Washington University and a Masters degree in Cello Performance from Rice University. Therefore, although I do have a system that I follow, I attend to the specific strong and weak points of each student. I dont have a dogmatic, one size fits all approach; rather, I adjust to each individual student and his or her own needs. My dancers range from young children, to adult and senior beginners. In conjunction with these books, I select a repertoire that corresponds with their current abilities, and work my way up from there. For adults and more advanced students, I use various technical studies such as Sevcik, Kreutzer, and Rode, and standard Rep using the International editions.
