A student will play their best when they feel at ease with the instrument and discover how naturally and physically rewarding playing the cello can be. I adapt to each student in order to find the most effective way to both inspire a passion for the music, and to help a student advance in the most effective way possible. I usually begin each lesson by discussing how practicing went the previous week, and adress any problems that might have arrised in both finding time to practice, and in inspiring each practice session to both effective and engaging. With advancing students of any age, I start to slowly introduce scale and etude books, as well as solo repertoire by major composers, not found in their method books. String students: For both younger and adult beginners, I like to use a combination of the Suzuki books and the Essential Elements series.
