I am a highly motivated, hard-working, and outgoing individual. I attribute development of my teaching method to having started as young as I did; it is my firm belief that students and teachers should learn together, and that, especially with younger students, that it should be fun, engaging, and even a little bit silly at times. I both encourage and require regular practice on a consistent schedule; practicing not only helps students further their progress, but it helps them to avoid burnout by maintaining a view of music as less of a chore and more of a fun activity. I have the most experience teaching beginner students with the Suzuki method. The main focus of Dr. Suzuki’s method is teaching from a place of love and encouragement. I find this method teaches the technical fundamentals of cello playing while keeping the students progressing at rate suitable for their individual needs. I am a firm believer that each and every student with the excitement to learn can succeed. That said, everyone moves at their own pace and responds differently when learning new skills. Therefore, I have learned to adapt to the student and tailor my instruction so that they are comfortable in the learning process.
