I have been successful with several of my students where some have won scholarships, solo playing, and early duets, trios and quartets. My students range from beginners to advance playing, and each student is different and requires different approaches. In my lessons, I take an integrated approach to music education, drawing connections between music of practically any style, genre, or tradition; between musical technique, analysis, and expression; and between music as an abstract entity (e.g., a score, an acoustic phenomenon) and the cultural and historical context in which it is both composed and performed. I work on music not only from the Western classical tradition, but also from pop, rock, jazz, and folk music from around the world, as I believe all musical styles are worthy of exploration and consideration. In 2023, I proudly graduated from Northwestern University with a doctoral degree in Cello Performance. Prior to this, I earned a master's degree in Cello Performance from Northwestern University and a bachelor's degree in the same field from the prestigious Eastman School of Music. Read More

It's important to move at the student's pace - whatever speed that may be. It's important to build a solid foundation but that doesn't necessarily mean mastery or perfection. It's easy to lose interest if stuck on one piece to long so we'll move through the material as quickly or as slowly as the student desires as long as the foundation is there. I have taught students from beginner to advanced levels, from age 9 to adult. I have taught face-to-face in studio lessons, and also through online lessons.
