My teaching is strongly influenced by the Suzuki method and the teaching methods of Mimi Zweig and Susan Moses. I incorporate Dalcroze Eurhythmics and general music theory and ear training into each lesson. I believe that learning to play an instrument should be fun and enjoyable, while simultaneously stretching a childs musical imagination and growing their cello technique. I graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelor's degree in Classical Cello Performance. I began playing cello in elementary school, and not soon after began participating in Youth Orchestras both in New Jersey and in New York. After attending several music festivals over the summer, I took an interest in music as a career. I am a classically trained cellist and a winner of many awards. I have performed solo, chamber, and orchestra concerts throughout the US. My erformances in New York City include Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Steinway Hall, Cami Hall, Zankel Hall, The Open Center, The Tibetan House, and Avery Fisher Hall. I aim to tailor my lesson plans to each students unique goals. The methods I use differ based on each persons aspirations and learning habits. I believe that the cello can be a beneficial addition to anyones life, whether it is being played for recreation/therapy, to explore and enjoy great music, or to challenge oneself and build discipline through rigorous practice.
