Nothing is more encouraging than seeing students get excited about progressing and getting closer to their goals! I love to see students nail their jazz band auditions into high school or college, or seeing them get their first recording session from a major artist. Equally fulfilling is seeing beginners play their first C major scale with proper hand position and fingering! I can personally tailor my instruction style based on the student as we all learn differently, and teaching them always inspires myself to get better every day! Read More

I started my musical journey at age 3 in Hollywood, California. My musical inspiration has always been The Beatles and I aspired to be like them. From the first time I picked up the guitar I never put it down. As I grew into my guitar, it became my friend, protector and therapist. As a high school student hearing the last bell ring, I leaped on my back and headed straight to music school which I took way more serious than anything else, knowing that one day I'd make my presence known. Depending on where the student is on their development, and which instrument: Guitar - I typically try and start with fundamentals such as how to hold your instrument.. where in the fret to press and make it sing and sound correct. I usually give them a couple simple, one or two string ditties to practice. Then I usually go over some of the basic, commonly used chords and have the student practice on making sure that they can hear all the correct strings ring when they strike the chord. Read More

I have been insfluenced and surrounded with music since childhood. I have experience in multiple aspects of music from performance to teaching and just about everything in between. I love working with students to achieve their goals. The most rewarding feeling for me is when my student feels they've accomplished a technique or method on their respective instrument. I strive to keep lessons joyous yet keep the student motivated to practice at home. Read More

The student and I will begin to develop a relationship right away. Trust and communication are key. We'll see where the student stands in his or her current playing. They will usually play for a minute or so and talk out loud about their feelings on their playing. This will include thoughts like where he or she starts to get bored, gets stuck, wants to explore more, has trouble, etc. Read More
