Modern life is very busy and full of distraction. For many of us, daily life in particular is also filled with lots of obligations, which can drain us of our creative energy. Experience with hundreds of students over decades has shown me that when the music lesson becomes just another part of that sense of obligation, it produces negative outcomes. Originally being a self-taught musician, I began with piano and harmonica, then eventually branched out to guitar, bass, banjo, among several others. I have ran sound equipment from an early age as well, learning how to set rigs for full bands and how to mix and master tracks for recording purposes. As a musician, I believe that while learning and making music it is important not only to learn the fundamental techniques required for the instrument, but to have fun while playing. Playing and making music should be an enjoyable past time for all people of all ages, without judgement because of skill level or genre. Because of these beliefs, I try to diversify my playing in all genres on many different instruments in order to remove any biases against genres, and learn the true art behind all types of music, no matter how simple it may be.
