I am a classical guitar teacher who is looking to educate and inspire potential new students. I am classically trained and I have learned from some of the best musicians in the area (Dr. Zane Forshee of Peabody University and Matthew Dunlap of Peabody University). While I do have a strong classical guitar backround, I also have a deep love for other styles such as rock, pop, blues, etc and would love to teach any of these styles. Read More

Setting realistic goals is definitely a good place to start. Also, I encourage transcribing music in small sections, and to always start slow and take deep breaths, as this will reduce the student's normal anxiety and has done wonders in my own playing as well. Using a rhythm reference like a metronome or a drum loop while practicing is also a must, at it helps develop the student's groove. Internalizing music by developing the student's ear is also a very important part of my teaching style as Is applicable in any genre (hear it before you play it!) Read More

I started giving Music lessons 20 years ago. I began giving private lessons and group lessons part time in the afternoons after I finish school in the mornings. Young students come to me asking me for lessons after a Gig or performance. I found very interesting and exiting to see the progress of the students with my own personal methods. We follow a process with disciple but we also have fun and we go to the direction that the student feels more attracted. Read More

I am an enthusiatic and experienced instructor and I want to share my passion with others. I graduated with my Bachelors of Music in Music Composition from Indiana University in 2004. In 2013, I graduated from the University of Redlands with a Masters degree in Guitar Performance. As well as being an experienced instructor, I am also a seasoned performer. I have an eclectic and extensive musical palette and have found myself performing in everything from classical guitar recitals as both a soloist and ensemble player, in pit orchestras, small jazz combos, folk music duos and pop music groups. My lessons are fun and interactive! A light-hearted approach to learning an instrument is very important. Especially considering the difficulty a stringed instrument can bring; it's very easy to become discouraged when met with a difficult instrument, in a lousy-not-fun lesson, with a grumpy instructor. I work to keep the air light and flexible. By flexible, I mean to say that if at any point my student feels disgruntled, then we adjust. Read More
