Besides regular warmups and technical workouts, I encourage every student to transcribe, sing and play along with music they like. After high school, I embarked on a collegiate musical journey, which led me to stays at Columbia College in Chicago, Bowling Green State University (where I received a full tuition scholarship) and Wayne State University.
