Since 1996 I have been solely committed to a career in teaching and performing professionally. My Father was an amateur jazz pianist, my Grandmother, a professional opera singer prior to marriage. My earliest memories came with a soundtrack: my Dads piano playing. I studied privately both on piano (early) and guitar (later), starting somewhere in my fifth year. I have been teaching private music lessons for more than 30 years at my home and at my student's homes.  After I received my Master's degree I obtained my teaching certificate in vocal and instrumental music for grades K - 12.  I taught vocal music for the Jersey City Board of Education and later I taught strings for the  Kearny Board of Education.  I prepared students for auditions and recitals always encouraging them to practice and learn music theory and music history. I have more than 30 years of experience in teaching guitar and bass lessons. I’ve taught many different types of students—young children, senior citizens, and everything in between. I’ve taught and coached students who have just wanted to play a couple of their favorite songs as well as students who were looking for the necessary skills to get into various music programs/ensembles. I have been playing music for over 15 years and have earned two degrees in music (University of Colorado, Manhattan School of Music). Some of my teachers include the world class Orin O'Brien and Tim Cobb from the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Orchestra. In my undergrad I was a finalist for the annual concerto competition and have I performed internationally in Canada as well as Japan.
