I am a patient and flexible teacher. I have extensive knowledge of theory and various techniques, but I make sure the student is learning what they want. I believe in teaching songs to introduce new skills. Through repertoire, the student can learn theory, ear training, technique and other fundamental skills. During my time at Northeastern, I played guitar in a band called DeckParty with two friends from high school and collaborated with a variety of different artists, playing guitar on over 30 songs that have been released on Spotify. I give a very good foundational approach to the learning experience. For example, I teach students how to find the notes on the guitar and the bass. From there on the guitar, I teach the open string chords. On the bass, I give fingering exercises and patterns to work on. With the chords, we look at simple songs to play.
