I like to divide my lessons in two parts: first we address the most formal aspects of the lesson, most of the times using a method book or given hand-outs or whatever relevant material was suggested to the student; the remainder of the lesson is dedicated to work on the students choice of a song or anything less formal suggested by myself. This scheme for lessons might be different regarding the level and commitment of the student, but it is in general the outline I use. Read More

I started teaching 7 years ago at the beginning of my college career and I have been teaching consistently ever since! I've had students from ages 4 to 60+ and taught individually, group lessons, and group classes. I began taking weekly private lessons while in elementary school and have had all kinds of teachers throughout my career as a musician; I truly value the music student to teacher relationship and kinds of lessons one experiences when studying music whether it's life lessons such perseverance, determination, patience, and acceptance or purely musical. For teens and adults, the path depends on their goals, which aren't always in a book. Read More

Ive been teaching private guitar lessons since graduating from NYU Im 2009. My lessons draw upon the music theory concepts that I mastered in college, as well as my extensive experience playing in my own band. I straddle the line between a trained approach and an organic, intuitive approach. You will learn to use music theory as a foundation to fully develop your own style. You need to learn the rules first in order to break the rules! Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 20 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio and students homes for the last 10 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument.
