I am a passionate and creative teacher who strives to perform and teach. I love the feeling music gives me and I want to share that feeling. I have been playing music for much of my life and I am making a career out of it. I will attend Azusa Pacific University to receive a Bachelor of Music degree in commercial bass performance. My goal is to take the knowledge I receive and pass it on. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, its important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress and this makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the students, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

Every student progresses at their own pace. I write out the homework for the week on a piece of paper for both them and the parent to see. When their expectations are written out, it's easier to see how far they've progressed. Most of my lessons start out with asking how their week went and how much practice they were able to get in. We then review the material from the week before and talk about the progress or any difficulties they may have come across during the week. Read More

I customize my teaching to the individual based on their experience and expectations. We will always establish a solid form of technique on the instrument: for electric bass that being fretting hand drills and exercises getting used to getting around the fretboard, and right hand drills practicing alternating plucking. In addition to that well dive into harmonic structure: learning the notes of the fretboard and the coo responding scales/arpeggios/chords that go with them. Read More

I have taught quite literally all ages. 5-75. Styles and lesson books used varied depending upon student and school. I usually taught Suzuki for violin, viola and classical guitar (tend to prefer Scott Tennant Pumping Nylon book for classical guitar though). And usually Faber Piano Adventures for young piano students. Eventually going to Clementi Sonatinas and Chopin Preludes. Also Mel Bay Modern Guitar for beginning rock/jazz guitarists. Then eventually going to Mickey Bakers Jazz Guitar books. Read More

I am new to teaching but I have worked as an organizer and choir leader in my high school and college, giving me the experience I need to have an organized curriculum for new students that is interesting and actually impactful. I aim to teach younger beginner guitarists how to best pick up the instrument and learn by playing the songs that they actually like! Breaking them down so they understand the music, but also feel like they're learning the necessary skills to pick up and play any song they want in the future and perform confidently. Read More
