At the Berklee Day Sessions Summer Program in 2011, I played in and directed ensembles of musicians aged 10-13. There is nothing more satisfying than to see my students achieve their goals and develop an increasing love for music.Some students learn extremely fast, and some may learn at a slower pace than others.I am indeed a very patient and understanding instructor.People may have certain obstacles that may stand in their way of learning.That is the reason why I make myself available to talk to anyone with questions or certain concerns they may want to discuss.As time progress and I start to see their talent developing I often invite them to come to my live performances and sit in with the band.This helps to develop their craft and hopefully increase their self esteem and perseverance.Playing for your first audience can be a little scary, but once you've gotten through that initial performance, is undoubtedly a great achievement. They want to feel like they have something to show for the time that they were the class session. . if we have an hour session and at the end of the session they can go out and show off what they learned then they will. It be as motivated to come back....
