Once a solid foundation is established, we will branch out into music that the student is interested in playing. - Classical Guitar students will use Charles Duncan's "A Modern Approach to Classical Guitar." - Intermediate and Advanced students will learn what they are interested in - rock/pop/country/etc. - Intermediate and Advanced students will also learn music theory and scales, at least at a basic level. For high school students, I use more advanced methods and techniques that ready them for competitive auditions and college careers. I adhere to their high school curriculum while developing very specific lesson plans and practice routines that fit their desired goals. I tend to use solo pieces and repertoire that will increase the students' sight reading proficiency, playing dexterity, and target strengths and weaknesses, while refining a solid technique package. Through those songs, I can introduce many technical and musical concepts. It is very important that this is a positive musical experience.
