I am a dedicated and passionate instructor and have spent over fifteen years refining my teaching style in order to deliver a comprehensive learning experience. In 2008, I graduated from New School University in New York City with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in jazz performance with the double bass as my primary instrument. Every student is different. I understand this and use it to my advantage. Early on I will use my own methods of building coordination between the fingers and the instrument. We will quickly learn simple chords and will be able to start playing along with songs in the first few lessons! I will even find ways to get students to play along with songs of their choosing! I have taught a heavy schedule of students most of my adult life. For the years between 1995 and 2001 my touring schedule as a road musician prevented me from teaching. Since returning in '02 until covid shut us down I averaged 80 private students a week.
