I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for beginners. Once you progress with the basics, we move on to trumpet repertoire, whether trumpet solos or duets. For older students, we will begin with trumpet repertoire while combining it with songs that you like to listen to. I am a passionate elementary school music educator who can "technically" play most instruments but trumpet was first in my heart when started playing it in 4th grade! I continued with it growing up and all the way through college where I graduated with a bachelor of science in music education K-12. I am currently in my 7th year of teaching elementary general music, chorus, beginner band.
