My teaching experience began 16 years ago. I worked in many private schools and studios. I was able to learn how to work with groups, with childrens of different ages and with adults. I have been teaching students private voice and piano for 6 years. Encouraging a consistent schedule is one of the key points that I like to emphasize for younger and new students. This will help students progress and gain a passion for the instrument. My own vocal-study is rooted from the pedagogical line of Manuel Garcia. I believe that the young voice must be given time to develop. I build an awareness of the body's physiological role in healthy-singing; breath is the key to phonation (singing). Once the fundamentals are grasped, I spend time teaching musicianship. By gaining a deeper understanding of musicianship, we become well-rounded musicians and therefore, better singers. Even though I am still in school I actually have a job as a music educator already! I teach at a private school and I absolutely love my job! I am a self taught instrumentalist but I also have taken lessons as well. I do not have a huge amount of private lesson teaching but I have experience group teaching and teaching a class.
