I'm a passionate instructor who loves teaching. I've been a musician since I was 6. I started playing piano, then moved on to percussion. By age 12, I played piano, drums and guitar fluently. I continued my education up to my masters from Texas A&M University in 2012. Upon graduating, I started teaching in the brazos county area. I moved closer to Houston to expand my career. Over the past 10 years I have made myself very comfortable and known in the music teacher community. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I believe that teaching voice does not involve a one-size-fits-all method. Every one is different, and therefore every voice is unique. It's important to treat each voice individually. A positive teaching environment is vital to encourage a student's progress. Lessons should also be fun. If the student is not having fun then something is not right. I also listen to the students and find out what repertoire and styles they would like to work on. Read More
Instruments: Piano, Voice, Oboe
I first always start with warm-ups. I believe warm-ups really are the building blocks of technique which is vital to learning piano, voice or any instrument under the sun. Next we look at the level or etude book if we are working with piano or instruments. These songs are short and have a mini lesson/technique hidden in them. These further build the students' ability to play more difficult pieces later. Read More
Instruments: Voice
My approach to teaching emphasizes the importance of patience and forming building blocks that will take the student to where they want to go, over time. I like to encourage my students by focusing on small victories that happen in each lesson so that they are inspired to accomplish more and more as our lessons continue. I have a friendly, no-pressure approach to teaching and I want my students to feel as comfortable as possible not only to be amazing singers and performers, but to also be equipped accordingly to handle snags or setbacks that may happen along the way.
