I have an incredible passion for music and I believe that I pass that passion along to my students, helping them also develop a love for the technique and nuances that music contains. I was born in England and came to America to complete my Masters degree in Music at the age of 21. I have been teaching both in England and America collectively for 7 years and feel extremely confident in meeting the needs of every student I meet. Read More

I started teaching to supplement income between tours. However, I soon fell in love with teaching! My experience is part real world and part academic, I was a professionally touring Recording artist for 15 years. In that time I learned the in's and outs of the entertainment business and a passion for molding young and upcoming Singers into professional's. When my students first begin a lesson we start by assessing their ability with an intro song of their choosing, from there we Build using open throat technique and slowly inching into more advanced techniques such as Distortion and Vocal fry. My experience with vocal coaching started when I was a young girl helping to teach my church's choir parts for songs we had to learn. Once I went to college I joined the Gospel Chorale at Virginia State University where I helped guide the alto section for a month long European Christmas tour. I had the pleasure of coaching and singing on tour twice while in college. I graduated and went into teaching my own lessons while also assistant teaching for choir at a middle school. Read More

I tailor a student's curriculum to their musical goals and needs, while making sure that I am instilling the fundamentals needed for pursuing music at the college scholarship level. Often this means scales, chords, arpeggios, music literacy, performance practice and listening skills. To accomplish this, I use standard materials that are often available online and are used by college and University music programs around the world. I have a variety of method books in different styles and from different time periods, and will select, assign, and provide a Method book to a student based on the student's goals. Read More

I have no expectations of my students until they show me what they're capable of. After our first two lessons, I start to really stress the importance of practicing on their own time as well. Singing is part muscle memory and your muscles can't memorize what they aren't consistently doing! I use a very kinesthetic approach to my teaching in that I focus on how the entire body feels when my student is singing the correct way versus how it feels when they are singing incorrectly (unhealthily).
