I am a compassionate instructor and am excited to share my love of music with my students. My philosophy is that the student comes first and the music comes second. I attended Oklahoma City University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Theatre. After leaving OCU I studied further voice lessons from Michael Crowley, a former member of the company at the Metropolitan Opera. I have played piano since I was 5 years old. Read More

Music is a language! I teach music in a similar manner as we learn to speak. We learn to speak through trial and error having no wrong words and music should be taught in a similar fashion, where there are no wrong notes. We learn our speaking style, manner and/or accents by what we hear and this concept also applies to music; therefore listening is a crucial part for advancement and the pleasure of learning. I always start with a strong Classical Foundation, and also specialize in Musical Theatre and Contemporary Styles. Some students love classical music, and we work on Italian arias...while others love 80s Metal Bands, and we work on healthy ways to approach contemporary music. For Musical Theatre, I make sure my students have a wide range of genres at the ready, so they are equally prepared to audition for both My Fair Lady or Hamilton. Read More

I understand that many people take voice lessons recreationally, and that not everyone trains like a college student. I do, however, encourage all my students not to sell themselves short and set high standards for themselves. I acknowledge any and all progress that is made, and encourage my students to be proud of the sound they are making. If you don’t like your voice, then you certainly won’t sing for someone else. My favorite thing about teaching is getting to discover how others learn. The approach I use for one student will not always work for another. I think every person has a unique learning style and I love to develop new ways to teach concepts to my students. I work to encourage my students to be an active participant in setting and achieving goals in our work together, while maintaining a fun, positive atmosphere. Read More

My teaching experience began at the University of Tulsa. I taught voice to a few students who were non music majors for about a year. After graduating from the University of Tulsa, I began teaching at Brook Fine Arts Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I taught over 30 students a week in both voice and piano (ages 3 to 20) for over a year. In my work as a teacher, I have helped students prepare for school competitions, studio recitals, talent shows, solo and ensemble contest, and musical auditions. Read More

I have been immersed in music for as long as I can remember, with a lifelong passion for both performing and teaching. My journey began with formal training in classical voice at a young age, which laid a solid foundation for my musical endeavors. Throughout my education, I pursued various avenues of musical exploration, from studying music theory and composition to delving into different genres such as jazz and contemporary styles. Read More
