My experience began with an internship at the Diller-Quaile School of Music in NYC. I assisted in teaching students from underprivileged school districts by taking them to their classes, encouraging them to play/sing along, and perform for them as well. Sight singing, aural skills, music theory, and efficient practice techniques will all be at the forefront. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop and hone their skills! I am extremely hands on and I listen very intently during my sessions. I have a great "ear" which is my best asset. I encourage each student to progress at his or her own pace. I encourage this by maintaining a stress free environment. I have a routine that I use for the lesson time--breath exercises followed by the vocal warm up and then working on a piece. During that process I always encourage an open dialogue between myself and every student. I want to student to feel as comfortable as possible and always have the option to ask questions and take part in their development as a singer. I have played trumpet since the 4th grade and I played throughout high school, college up to today. I sang and played in multiple ensembles throughout my schooling career.
