My goal as a teacher is to show students the joys of singing and playing music, while instructing them how to be technically proficient and vocally healthy. Through the process, I encourage singers to appreciate what their strengths are and to recognize their weaknesses as challenges. I like to focus on one technical issue at a time, building upon the current strengths without overwhelming the singers. I am an enthusiastic and compassionate instructor who loves to share my musical knowledge with those eager and willing to learn. I received a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Cleveland State University in 2018 and became a board-certified music therapist in January of 2019. With this degree and profession comes the knowledge and skillset of numerous instruments, including voice (my primary instrument), guitar, piano, and ukulele. I started playing upright bass when I was 10 years old and quickly found that there was nothing that I enjoyed more than music. Throughout high school and college I played in orchestras, bands, jazz bands, rock bands and with singer songwriter friends.
