Hello music lovers! My name is Lilly Scott. I have been sharing my love of music, with students of all ages, as a private music instructor since 2012. I specialize in advanced vocal instruction and talent development. Vocal warmups are for basic technique.I try to have my students sing a variety of music but most common among my students is Musical theatre and pop. I graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in Music performance, emphasis in voice and have continued my career with music. I began teaching guitar lessons informally in college. I learned then that I had a knack for helping people understand concepts and techniques on the guitar. I have had more regular students since my early twenties, from young children to senior citizens. I have taught singers who simply wanted to be able to strum chords; folk and blues fingerpickers; and the occasional lead guitarist in rock, pop or blues styles. Read More

I use goal-setting as a satisfying and organized way to break down musical lessons, which means lessons time is well spent and students have a good understanding of how and what to practice. Students remain engaged and satisfied with this approach, which provides proof of the progress that is taking place in lessons and in private practice time. My experience teaching started in college. I was lucky enough to be elected the Music Director of an all male a cappella group at Missouri State and much of my time was spent teaching vocal techniques, musicianship, and arranging to the group as well as individually. At this time, I was also the tenor section leader for the Missouri State Concert Chorale under the direction of Dr. Guy Webb. After college, I pursued a teaching career in Birmingham, AL where I taught private voice and piano lessons to 30-40 students a week as well as coaching group classes and rock bands for competition. I have been teaching since 1980. I am originally from North Carolina and moved to Colorado in the 80s. I am a member of National Music Teachers Association, Colorado State Music Teachers Association and Foothills Music Teachers Association.
