I expect my students to come into their lessons with a notebook and pencil so that they can write down what happens during the lessons. This is how they look back and reflect during their inmdividual practice.
I've been singing since I was a child. I've played in school orchestra and church praise band even before college. I've performed for the president and sung in Moscow's Red Square. My studies have focused on liturgical church music though my pentecostal church background has helped combine spirit with tradition. I currently teach music to grades K-5 in a public charter school in Duval County, Florida.

We offer professional teaching in everything from modern pop to classical. Next, provide a piano or keyboard for accompaniment during your lessons. Schedule voice lessons at home, and learn to sing while saving time and staying comfortable.
Taking singing lessons at an early age can be a great advantage in the vocal development of students. Young students can get a head start in their singing abilities as they will learn from an early age how to hear and recreate pitch, work on their timing, start to build strength and coordination in their singing, develop a good understanding of how the voice works, learn music theory, and can be exposed to a variety of styles and musical genres. We recommend that students take lessons from about the age of 11 or 12, as not to place too much pressure and strain on their voices before they have fully matured.
As an adult, singing involves more than proper breathing and vocal control. It also includes choosing songs that compliment your voice and taking care of your vocal cords. Learn how to sing any musical genre with adult voice lessons. The professional instructors in Musika's network are skilled in helping adult students succeed. We give you the tools you need to succeed while performing or during auditions. Choose your favorite genre, then get ready to sing. We come to your home, or you can travel to our studio. With adult voice lessons, learn techniques that help you sing better today and into the future.
Keeping your voice healthy starts with keeping your entire body healthy. The voice is contained within the body, so following a balanced diet, getting adequate sleep, and reducing stress are all keys to keeping your body and voice healthy. Singers should avoid excess caffeine, smoking, and consumption of alcohol and drugs. Excessive screaming, speaking, performing in loud or crowded places without proper amplification, and singing for a prolonged amount of time without rest should all be avoided. Singers should always stay hydrated by drinking purified water, and try to stay away from sugary drinks and colas.
Regardless of whether you want to sing Rock, Pop, Folk, or Musical Theatre, our vocal lessons can develop your singing technique in a safe, effective way that can be applied to all of the above genres and many more. Students will learn a whole host of fun exercises that are designed to develop your vocal technique and build strength, endurance, and vocal power. Through a good understanding of how the voice works and by practicing the exercises taught during lessons, you can improve your vocal tonality, develop skills such as vibrato, pitch, and harmony, and increase your vocal range; usually by at least one full octave. You will learn how to connect the chest and head registers, maintain steady air pressure and vocal fold closure, tilting of the thyroid cartilage (to switch registers) and how to build these techniques until you can apply them to your favorite songs.

My 4 year old son is quite energetic. Another piano teacher tried to teach him before Peter and could not get my son to listen to him at all. That teacher told me that my son had no interest and that we needed to wait before having my son take lessons. Peter started teaching my son a few weeks later. He quickly developed a great rapport with my son. I was astounded when my son sat down and listened to Peter during the first lesson. Peter has remarkable patience and is a natural working with children. He knows when to follow the child's lead. My son is very interested in how the piano works, so Peter takes the time to teach him about this. He is able to use my son's interests (superheroes, Lego, Star Wars, etc.) to refocus him back to playing the piano. Between lessons, he brainstorms on how he can teach my son better. For example, my son was playing the notes, but not understanding rhythm, so Peter looked into it and came back the next week with a new plan which helped. My son looks forward to his lesson every week. When he hears the doorbell ring on lesson day, he exclaims, "Yay! Peter's here!"

This is the 1st time I've ever taken lessons, and Robert has been a pleasure to work with. I've made quick progress and have enjoyed the process. I'm always listening for those tips that you can't find in a book. I can count on Robert to be strict on the fundamentals and am clear it will make a difference in the long run.

Karleen has really turned it around for me. My previous teacher (not from Musika) had me feeling anxious, upset, and incapable...NOT the desired result! Karleen's method is clear, appropriate for my beginning level, and (best of all) actually lets me achieve some progress! I'm actually looking forward to my lessons now!

I am in my 60s and decided to get back into playing my guitar. I thought taking lessons would be a good way to formalize the endeavor. I did have some concern about whether working with a teacher would work out as I've behave only played for my own enjoyment for a long time. Peter and I have had a few lessons together and I am truly enjoying the experience. He is very supportive and flexible. We arrived at a three gold approach that is really working for me. We focus on developing a playlist, learning some of the more iconic tunes from leading artist that I would have a hard time learning on my own and developing some technical skills related to style and music theory. Now I look forward to my next lesson and am already playing better and enjoying the journey. Peter is a great teacher I'm lucky to have the opportunity to work with him.

Lindsey has been coming to our house to give saxophone lessons to our 12 year old daughter for about a month. She is an absolute joy. She is extremely knowledgeable, flexible with her schedule, and my daughter thinks she is "fun" and "cool". We would highly recommend her to anyone wanting music lessons. A+

After moving from NY and parting from our amazing piano instructor, we thought we couldn't find a piano teacher close to what we knew. We are happy to say Musika matched us up with someone professional and friendly who enjoys teaching younger students. Thank you! We definitely recommend Kuan as a piano instructor :)

Rahsaan is an extremely talented player who relates really well with my teenagers. He has them both interested in learning. Given Rahsaan's expertise, it's clear that even though they are beginners now, they can learn from him for a long time to come. He's a real nice laid-back guy and both the boys really enjoy their time with him. I've been very impressed and pleased with the experience.

Kevin was such a fun, smart and innovative voice teacher to work with. I had the pleasure of taking lessons with him for over a year and I couldn’t have been more pleased with my time under his training. In just a few weeks I noticed my voice was stronger and I was able to apply his teaching and see the results. He explains his techniques in a way that the student is able to actually hear and feel the changes he is referring to. This allows the student to efficiently practice outside of lessons. Even further, he believed in me and truly cared about my progress. He was always energetic and focused in lessons and was continually surprised how far a song could come in just one hour of his time. Under his teaching I developed a stronger belt in my higher range, learned how to color my voice for different sounds and improved my stage presence. I wholeheartedly trust Kevin’s musical insight and was grateful that he challenged me with a wide variety of songs and styles that I hadn’t considered trying before.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
