I find ways to make these more mundane parts of the lesson fun with games and veiled learning that keep students engaged. I have been teaching private piano and voice lessons for over 20 years, and I still love it! I love teaching all ages, beginner thru advanced. As an undergraduate, I was tapped to teach for my university's preparatory music department. After graduation, I started teaching privately, and I've never looked back. In addition to teaching privately, I have also taught music and movement classes, and that experience has helped me learn how to effectively incorporate movement in order to help students learn (especially busy little ones who don't need to be sitting for an entire half hour lesson anyway).
