During that time I was given the opportunities to sing with some wonderful groups including Kentucky Opera Chorus, Cardinal Singers, Early Music Ensemble, and Choral Arts Society. I attended school at Valley Head High School in Valley Head, Alabama and attended college at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I have performed all over the country, and my musical arrangements, compositions, and marching drill design have been performed all over the world. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students get really excited about reaching their goals. I consistently encourage students by giving them positive feedback about the progress they are making. I also help them push themselves to become better singers by being an inspiration and a mentor for them throughout their journey. I do feel that music is a journey, not a destination. I inspire my students to develop an appreciation for music that lasts their entire lives, and so my instruction is tailored to the individual no matter where they are on their journey. Read More

Everybody's experience with music is different and not everybody will pick things up as quickly as others so you must meet them where they are. Music is nerve-racking at first because expressing ourselves isn't something that is always encouraged so I look for something they are interested in to start off.
