I have been teaching both beginning piano and voice lessons since 2010, and have found so much fulfillment in teaching students of all ages and backgrounds. I believe it is so important to customize each student's lesson experience based on their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses. My goal is to make these lessons feel rewarding and fun for you, so we will discuss together what it is that you're seeking from your lesson experience regarding musical styles, skills and your overall personal goals. Voice: In voice lessons we do not use books which allows me to fully customize lessons to the individual students needs and wants. I teach different methods of breathing, including low costal breathing and we focus on posture, sound placement, among many other fun skills. Speaking: Speaking lessons are also highly customized, as speakers could be anyone from film or stage actors, to voice over artists, to public speakers and beyond. Read More

I'm a passionate musician from a small town in Missouri. My love for music started at a young age and I'm happy to say much of my personal and professional time has been spent surrounded by it. I love every different genre for different reasons and appreciate every musician for their addition to the field. I studied voice and piano from the age of 8 through to high school and college eventually teaching at a private studio in Birmingham, AL. Read More

I have also taught private lessons on various instruments and in voice since 2008. I have had my students make All-State Honor Band/All-State Choir, I have had students get college scholarships and many have been accepted into colleges as music majors, I have had students nominated for the All-American Army Marching Band, and have even had students perform solo recitals in public venues. I enjoy teaching and especially enjoy teaching music more than anything. Read More

The most rewarding thing is watching a student achieve their goals. Therefore I tend to help them set realistic goals for each lesson and allow them to progress at his/her own pace, all while having fun doing so. I acknowledge achievements and tailor my teaching to their needs, because I realize not one person is the same so neither is my teaching. Read More

I like to have my students progress to a point where they feel comfortable picking a song of their choice, transcribing it as accurately as possible, and playing it. For advanced students: there is no set structure for advanced students, as their requests and sets of strengths and weaknesses are so individually specific that I have to create a specific lesson plan for each student. However, one theme that I love to introduce advanced musicians to in terms of music theory are the psycho-acoustics and emotional manipulation of specific chord progressions, modes, cadences, and modal interchange.
