I studied Pedagogy at New York University and have kept learning as a teacher by attending various voice teaching seminars and conferences in NYC and I still train vocally with my long time teacher. Since 2006 I have taught voice lessons and tailored each lesson to the individual student. Read More

I strongly value theory and technical groundwork, but I also believe in guiding students toward the genres and compositions where they will find their own passion for music. With a solid foundation and an inner drive to keep playing, even beginner musicians can reach goals that may have previously seemed insurmountable. For beginners, we will start with the fundamentals and focus on pieces that they can master and enjoy as we work towards more complex repertoire and playing styles. Read More

For all students we will work on breathing technique, vocal technique and applying those aspects into songs that they love to sing. If a student picks out a song that doesn't suit him/her, I will help them find the right song for them - building them a diverse repertoire that they can sing any time and any where, without any struggle. I am an enthusiastic music teacher and musician who has taught hundreds of private students, college classes at UCSD, and elementary school classes with Afterschool Entichment Solutions. In addition to general music education, I teach guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, double bass, piano, vocals, music theory, ear training, and notation to students of all ages. I have been teaching since I was 16 years old, and became very devoted to teaching after I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music from Penn State. Read More

My teaching style is flexible depending on your needs. If you need a more strict style (perhaps you are working on college audition), then I'll make sure you have the proper technique, repetoire, sight reading, and skills needed to succeed. If piano is more of a hobby than a career path, we can work with that as well! Everyone has a different style depending on their needs. Read More

The main reason that I keep track of my student's growth, musical ability, learning speed, and musical history, is because every student is uniquely different when they are in the lessons. Some students are better with being pushed at a quicker pace, and others need more time to learn things. I hope that through my lessons, my students are able to find a passion for music and take that passion with them through their lives. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I began teaching private lessons while I was at Carnegie Mellon University. I teach my students how to make sound and to breathe correctly. By teaching a healthy way of singing, students are less likely to damage their vocal chords later on in life. Regular practice on a consistent schedule will help the student to progress and therefore allow them to move on to more challenging music. I like to give a basis of classical music and classical voice technique which the student can then use for whichever genre they prefer to sing. Read More
