In each class we do exercises to improve technique, sightreading, and performance along with music theory exercises. In a second part of the lesson we work on the songs having as main goal the creation of a repertoire that the student can play later to family and friends. I encourage consistent and regular practice, but also breaks and time to ask questions if one is stuck and not sure what to do. I mainly use classical style techniques and songs to build strong vocal instruments, but I also reference and use genres that individual students prefer to sing to keep their interest and build their love for singing.
