Students who are young beginners, I like to start with Hal Leonard's My First Piano. It's written for ages 5 and 6 full of excitement and imagination. Once the student has completed the C level of this book, or if I feel as though they are ready for the next level sooner than expected, we will move on to solo repertoire. Also I try to understand their objective of learning music, what they wish to gain. My favorite part about teaching music is the look on a student's face when something finally clicks. The most important part of my music classes is that my students are having fun as they're learning. I want them to feel safe and comfortable, especially in making mistakes. Mistakes are a big part of the learning process, especially when you're working with something as tricky as your voice. If a student is not comfortable putting themselves out there it's going to be much harder to reach their full potential. Read More

I am passionate about giving back to this art form that has given so much to me. I specialize in classical voice and have recently finished my education. I have experience singing professionally in operatic productions, as a soloist in concerts and recitals, in choirs and churches. I have also enjoyed singing in smaller venues for children and senior citizens. I love to travel, and singing has given me the opportunity to travel to Germany, France, England, and several areas in the United States. Read More
