I use different methods depending of the students' age and ability. Singers should always learn to breathe correctly and vocalize depending on their range. I could also use the Vaccai method for opera aspiring singers. For basic piano guitar, chords and harmonizing for accompaniment. For the recorder to learn to read music and play what's written. I also can teach in Spanish and English. Read More

During our lessons we will address correct breathing and posture and different vocalises that will strengthen and free up the voice, giving the student more power, more range and more freedom/agility.  Singing with freedom is a different path for each singer, and I will prescribe different exercises for each area of the voice we are trying to improve.  You will also be assigned songs: some classical, some musical theater and then whatever genre is your favorite. I usually start with breathing exercises and vocalises for all students. I also use the exercise books Concone and Sieber. After the student has grasped the breathing and the coordination of the vocalises we move on to repertoire that is age appropriate. I encourage my students to sing in Italian as this helps them to acquire a proper technique because Italian uses pure vowels. I have studied with some great teachers and feel like I need to pass on those methods to the next generation of musicians. Read More
