Instruments: Voice
Each lesson begins with a chat while we gently stretch, breathe and prepare your body to sing. Singers are attached to their instrument and so getting your mind focused and getting comfortable in the singing space allows us to have as productive a lesson as we can. We work on vocalizes and technique next- to properly warm you up and strengthen your instrument. All of the vocalizing we do is then put to work in your repertoire, chosen by me and also including your preferences and anything you bring that you are currently working on. Read More

Maintaining vocal health is my number one priority, no matter the level. I can help you achieve a healthy belt or expand your range. Placement is key! I start every lesson with 30 minutes of vocal warm-ups and encourage you to warm-up on your own between lessons. Your voice is a muscle and it needs to be taken care of. If you have an audition to prepare for, whether it is a college music program or a stage performance, I can help you choose the correct material and make sure you are at your best. Read More

Music should never be stressful to any degree. The goal is to share my love of music and singing with my students so that they may go on to share that passion with others or just to love this art form as much as I do. I am careful in noting a students' progress and am very attentive in what each student needs to succeed. I am a firm believer in the idea that EVERYONE can sing and the only thing holding us back is the lack of knowledge as to what barriers we need to drop and the things we need to do to be able to do so. Because I teach a variety of instruments and styles, each of my lessons is completely customized to each student. While progressing towards a Masters of Education degree, I learned the absolute importance of addressing different learning styles, and working one-on-one with music students gives me the perfect chance to do just that. I develop materials that best address each students style, and prefer to explore music that each particular student personally loves. Read More

I am a super passionate and motivated music educator who loves working with students all ages. I graduated from Albright College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Industry Studies. My major encompasses all aspects of the music industry including business, entertainment law, education, songwriting, and music theory. I have performed on campus as well as in the Burlington, NJ area as a busker. I also sang in the chamber choir where I got to sing at the Empire State Building and visited Aaron Coplands house in New York. Read More

Each student has an individual connection with music, and therefore a teacher should be willing to adapt their methods in the best interest of each student. When working with a new student, I devote the first lesson to getting to know each other; the student's interest in music, their proficiency level (if they've studied in the past), their hobbies, Depending on that meeting we might choose to focus more on music theory, or ear training, or performance repertoire; whatever the student and I set as a goal for our work together. I have experience with speech and voice therapy, as well as training in voice pedagogy, Alexander's Technique, and Body Mapping which I feel is important to include when teaching voice. Also, I believe it is up to the student or the student's parent(s) if lesson plans should be actively persued, and if they are then each student would be analyzed and have a unique plan that includes a combination of my experiences and training.
