I'm an engaging and energetic musician/teacher that thrives in helping my students discover their passion for music. After graduating from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts (concentration in Creative Writing and Jazz Studies) in 2005, I have spent the past 17 years helping hundreds of private students of all ages, ability levels, backgrounds, and styles discover their musical voice on their chosen instrument. As an active performing musician, I've played in a variety of bands/contexts in my local community, helping to support, create, and grow the local music scene, while encouraging my students to perform while providing them advice on how to best do so. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 4 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students for 5 to 55+ years old. In my lessons the most important thing to relax, have fun and express yourself. I let students pick which song they like and let them add a piece of their vision of the song. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! Read More

I am super passionate music teacher who loves facilitating students' vocal growth. I graduated from Westminster Choir College in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. During my time at Westminster, I have had the pleasure of singing in some amazing venues such as The Lincoln Center in New York, the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, The National Cathedral in Washington D.C., Oxford University in England, and many others. Because the voice is the only instrument we cannot see with the naked eye, voice lessons must be extremely interactive. I believe in catering each lesson towards the goals of the individual student. I also believe in the collaboration of teacher and student. I am always asking students opinions or reactions on what we work on in the lesson. I want to empower my students at every level to become more aware of their instrument to the point that they can eventually become their own teacher to a certain extent. Read More

My general rule of thumb is, the younger the student, the less technique I will teach. Although I do not necessarily consider there to be a minimum age requirement for pursuing voice lessons, I do copiously encourage parents to be astutely aware of the potential risks encountered when young students are taught vocal and breathing techniques which should be reserved for intermediate or advanced students. My focus with younger students is to instill a passion and excitement for music while developing fundamental techniques. Read More

In the Summer of 2013, I performed the role of Suor Osmina in their production of Suor Angelica, and covered the roles of Fortuna and Venere in their production of Lcoronazione di Poppea. Rachel made my operatic debut with Rice University in their fall of 2012 production of Volpone as Celia. With Rice University, I was also featured in their scenes programs as Mimi from La Bohme, Ilia from Idomeneo, Rosalba from Florencia en el Amazonas, and Mrs. Read More
