I am a recent graduate from Dickinson College with a BA in Music- Vocal Performance and Anthropology. Some of my recent major performance experiences include two solo recitals, including one featuring works of all women composers; Natalie in Next to Normal; and Frasquita in Carmen. I have interned in Florence, Italy with St. Mark's Opera, which is where I made my opera debut in Carmen. I am a passionate performer and excited teaching artist located in the Baltimore area. Originally being a self-taught musician, I began with piano and harmonica, then eventually branched out to guitar, bass, banjo, among several others. I have ran sound equipment from an early age as well, learning how to set rigs for full bands and how to mix and master tracks for recording purposes. Mike comes from a varied and vast array of musical experiences. He has a bachelor's of music in jazz studies from UNC Wilmington and a Masters of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Maryland. A highly trained performer on classical and modern piano as well as traditional and contemporary drum set and percussion give Mike an edge in his teaching abilities. Mike has been playing drums and percussion for over 25 years, piano for around 15, and has been studying voice for almost a decade. Read More
