First of all, I would ask the student if music would be his/her career or just a hobby. If it is to be his/her career, my approach would be more theoretical. But if it would be just a hobby like mine, I would encourage the student to learn by ear supplemented with a little theory to be able to learn a musical piece or song in the shortest time possible. For beginning students, i like to start with the Essential Elements method book. The pieces in this method book are good for beginners because they are short and simple. For more advanced students, I like to delve into the Suzuki method books and then into more advanced solo repertoire from there. However, each student is different, so each student's lesson may look different. I also like to see what pieces or scales the student is interested in learning and incorporate that into the lesson plan. Read More

If a student has never played violin before, I usually start out with a combination of the Suzuki method, the American Fiddle Method, and Jazz Fiddle Wizard to develop a holistic approach, comfortable with playing multiple styles, improvising, and playing both from sheet music and by ear from the very begginning. After the fundamentals are grasped, I ask the student what he or she really wants to play, and we develop technique and theory based on his or her favorite songs. Read More

Each student is different. At first I try to see what's their passion, how much farther they want to learn, what style would they prefer, and more things about their preferences. For the beginners it's very important to learn step by step. But at the same time I always find out a unique way to entertain by performing a peace for them, and/or play along with them or play an accompaniment for them. Read More

I believe that every student has their own learning style and I strive to teach to the student. Therefore, every student is taught differently, according to what works for them, and how the student is comfortable being taught. Student's will learn at their own pace while being encouraged to go beyond what they believe they are capable. Students will be given playing opportunities in an annual rectial, and semi annual group performances. Read More

I am a highly conscientious motivated instructor who wants the success of my students and I do not give up easily on anyone who is willing to practice and put forth effort. I began piano lessons at age 4, was in competitions as a child and also worked with the Sherwood School of Music in Chicago. I graduated from Cal State University with a BA in piano and music history. I love all kinds of piano music and can teach many types but my training is classical. Read More
