I started as a summer chamber councilor and then began teaching students as a private instructor. I use mainly the Suzuki method, and other non-traditional methods. I have performed all over the U.S. in my collegiate touring orchestra and even had the opportunity to go to Europe and perform there as well. I am a passionate instructor who enjoys working with students of all ages. I started performing, professionally, at a very young age, during my 6 years at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. From there, I attended the Louisiana State University, as a cello performance major and performed with the school symphony, as well as the Alexandria Symphony, the Lake Charles Symphony and local venues. For intermediate students I try to make it fun, according to their ages, may be throw some pop tunes here and there, or if they are more serious into classical then I would definitely enjoy the challenge of teaching relaxation techniques during difficult passages such as double stops, high positions, string crossings, etc. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
