Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! I strive to find an individual approach to each student and it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. While daily practice is necessary for quicker progress, not every student has the time for it. In 1968, I auditioned and was accepted with scholarship to Dartmouth College as a participant in the Convocation of the Arts summer program. Upon my return to Chicago, I studied with the late Morris Gomberg, then Chairman of the Strings Division at the Chicago College of Performing Arts/Roosevelt University. My studies with Mr.Gomberg were interrupted in 1969 when he stopped teaching due to illness.  In the years following, I began to study the chamber music literature, participating in a number of chamber music workshops and master classes including programs at Mannes College of Music/The New School, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Music Mountain, Vassar College, and VMAC (Vermont Music and Art Center). In this series Books I-III build a strong base upon which a student can specialize in different genre and styles graduating from book III. For adult students beginning I would suggest John Thompon's Adult (or Modern) Piano Course. The pacing of this book is far more accelerated and more in keeping with an adult pace to work with.
