I started playing violin when I was 7. I've been with Musika since 2011 (while I was in college). I have experience teaching Suzuki method (violin) from young age kids to old students. I also have been teaching Suzuki Method (K-12) strings at a local arts school and also at a Korean community center. I am currently teaching music subject at school as well. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern pop music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the violin and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

I have been teaching students for over 10 years. In addition to piano, guitar, violin, and double bass private lessons, I have also taught group lessons. I taught a group piano lab for 5th graders. I taught group guitar lessons to camp students. For young children (3-9) I exclusively use the Suzuki method and require a lot of parental involvement. I am happy to start children ages 10+ as well as teenagers. Having been a product of a school orchestra myself, I will use a more traditional teaching approach. The adult beginner or adult returner presents unique challenges but I wholeheartedly believe its never too late to start playing an instrument. Beginning violin is important. I use Hal Leonard's Essential Elements to help teach the functionality and basic building blocks of playing the violin. Moving forward, the best introduction into violin music itself is the Suzuki Violin School volume set. Each book helps students through various levels during their beginner phase. These pieces not only serve as educational material but also as solo repertoire for beginners in recitals.
