My teaching style is very analytical yet engaging! I try to establish a good relationship before pushing a student. At that point I will ask the student to play to the best of his/her ability. I teach in a style that helps children isolate problem areas, so that they can practice specific excerpts they are struggling with. I also do a lot of ear training and music theory to ensure that students are obtaining well-rounded musical skills. Read More

For beginning students, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, Suzuki, and easy scales. Once the student has progressed and appears to grasp the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce etudes and solo pieces. I also teach students elementary music theory related to the pieces they are learning. For advanced students, I focus more on their technique and performance. Scales and etudes are essential as well as having experience playing a diverse repertoire. Read More

I try to cater to the each student's particular needs. For beginning students that are children I typically start with the Essential Elements Strings Book 1 in combination with Suzuki first book. As every student progresses at a different pace, I adjust my teaching curriculum accordingly. Having that in mind, I decide on the next step, usually some solo repertoire, as well as some more etudes and scales.  For adults, I tend to go with what they are particularly interested in, as well as incorporating learning basic music reading and playing skills. I have had lots of experiences working with young musicians. I assisted my former violin teacher who teaches at Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou supervising some of his students’ practice. I helped my students to prepare for their exams, auditions, performances and competitions and a lot of them achieved satisfying outcomes. I also coached sectionals of a high school orchestra for 2 years and they were awarded 1st prize winner for the first time at the city’s interschool music contest during the second year. Read More
