I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music.  2013, I graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance and am currently a graduate student at Temple University. I have had many opportunities to perform as well as study all over the world.  When I was 18, I traveled to China for further study at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. That was an adventure! So, of course I could not wait to go back again and have been back to perform and study many times.  I have also performed in England, Italy and all over the USA.

I’ve noticed the Suzuki Method books for Violin/ Viola are still a classic; and for good reason- so I enjoy using those for my lessons. They continue to motivate the student by having goal-oriented exercises and I reflect that in my lessons. I also like to put EXTREME emphasis on LISTENING during my lessons, in which the Progressive Duets Series (by Carl Fischer) and Beautiful Music for Two Violins (by Samuel-Applebaum) helps immensely with encouragement and confidence in their playing. For guitar, I use The Modern Method for Guitar Series (by William Leavitt of Berklee) combined with my own improvisational education methods.

I try to focus the lessons on the individual student. I use faber books as my main method, but also incorporate a lot of sheet music for my students' different repertoires. I have taught many classes on music fundamentals and theory.  I am also very knowledgeable about Alexander technique - a technique used to help those who suffer from performance anxiety. I am also well versed in music therapy and have used it to help people with mental disorders and physical pain achieve some level of relief.

As I always like to say: if you are already investing your precious time in doing something, why not do it the best way? After many years I still receive expressions of gratitude and warm regards from my former students – that’s what makes my life worthwhile and brings me so much joy! Why? Because I always create an inclusive and respectful environment that fosters growth, awareness of self and others, and scholastic achievements for students no matter wich ages, levels and learning abilities they have. I am always finding the way to each student's own particular learning style and personality in my approach to them, and keep encouraging my students to stretch themselves to the next level, all the while maintaining an enjoyable atmosphere to the lessons.
