I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 1992, I graduated from Baruch (CUNY) with a degree in Applied Music. I have performed in Nashville and in New York City which has been one of my greater experiences as a musician, and I have had the opportunity to play at Jazz and Country Western clubs. For Beginning students or kids from 3 years old, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements and also some other theory to help them to read the notes on staff. Once Student slightly progressed, I will begin to start shop pieces with another finger technique etude, to building stronger and solid finger and also I would recommend some music repertories to listen to it, just for building music expression. For the Adult or Teenager, I would like to know what kind of music brings them here, and we can set that piece what they eventually want to play as a goal, and helping student build and practice the technique. I began teaching lessons part time five years ago when I was an undergraduate. I have worked with all ages, from young students to teenagers to adult learners. I also have experience coaching small ensembles at summer string camps. I love to give my students opportunities to play music together and for each other. When I was taking lessons as a young student, I found that the community that my teacher fostered at his studio by holding recitals, weekly group classes and holiday events was just as important to my improvement as my one-on-one time with my teacher. While studying at University I started my band with my sister, Verdigrls. We have gone on to put out an EP, play all over the NY metropolitan area as well as have our music featured in movies and television.
