I am involved with many orchestra events during my master degree such as performing in Tsai Performance Center and Boston Symphony Hall. In 2013, I received the Asian Youth Orchestra Scholarship, and having tour performance over the Asia. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Children with be asked to purchase the John Thomson Piano Book series as we first dive into reading music notation, learn our Keys, and begin basic music history. I don't have prior teaching experience, but in the 10 years that i took lessons, I can tell you how important it is to have a teacher that understands the needs and skill level of the student. And i quote from a teacher that i had when i was a kid, "It takes 5 years to sound bad on the violin".
